NATIONAL COASTWATCH INSTITUTION – RADIO CHECKS

Have you, on occasions, waited for "radio check" calls to HMCG when they are busy or casualty working?

Rhoscolyn NCI can respond to radio check transmissions and provide local weather and information on their own VHF channel 65.

Details are attached,  with the Station opening times.

Could please circulate details to your Members or Instructors - we will be pleased to respond to all VHF calls on CH65.

Links are attached for our National and local websites.

  1. The same can be said for NCI Point Lynas, probably a more likely place for Venturers to be passing.
They, like Rhoscolyn, can be found under the Stations tab on the NCI web site (https://nci.org.uk/stations/point-lynas). Over the summer months they mount Watches covering the period from 1000 to 1600, Friday to Monday. Call direct on Ch.65.

BOTH stations are keen to recruit new members. I’m now involved with them and can probably answer any simple questions about membership.
